A few minor problems, but generally easy to build. Flies like a dream. Now going to try a 450.

This is the second one of these that I have bought and I have to say that whilst not perfect they are very good value for money Areas to check are the ball links on the head (I replaced all mine with Align parts) and the tail, check for play add shims if required or replace with align parts other than that good value the real interesting thing is how quickly the parts bill for a crash makes it worth while buying another kit, at the rate I am going I will soon have bought all the stock !!!!!

The canopy is a poor quality fiberglass with scratches over the poor paintwork and the screws are a poor quality on the heli as i have had to replace some of them, the undercarriage is a little flimsey as well
Make sure you check over all the bolts for threadlock as i found a lot that had been missed
saying all that now i have built it up it doesnt seem to bad a quality apart from the flimsy undercarriage
I didnt intend to use the canopy or main and tail rotorblades or undercarriage anyway as i intend to fit the mechanics into a scale so it is perfect for that
Its still good value for monney and i would buy again

Yes, this is much lower cost than the Align version but you do seem to get what you pay for.
Please, please check everything! It is potentially very dangerous.
My example had one of the inside bearings missing from a control arm in the head, application of locktite on the screws is very hit and miss all over the model.
Blue print the complete build against the Align manual!
I had washers where they were not supposed to be incorrect length screws and that is just for starters. The main gear and auto-rotate gear are suspect, my example ran out on the main to the point it was tight in mesh at one point and then half mesh at the low point.
The tail assembly locked up solid with the screws supplied, it arrived loose, so if not checked would have come apart. I tried to build this using as much of the kit as possible, I figured that in the short term I would be using the machine to practice hover and transition into gentle circuits, so I though I would get away with not swapping out any parts.
The standard kit did not even make it through the first flight!
First flight the tail rotor bearing collapsed on one side and trashed most of the back assembly, the main gear and tail drive gear both stripped, hard to say if this was the sudden seizure of the tail shaft or bad meshing.
No the belt was not too tight, its just poor bearings.
I have now ordered another £65 worth of Align parts(I already purchased an Align control arm to replace the missing bearing in the kit) to upgrade the poor bearings and gears.
I know some people have managed to put together the standard kit and fly successfully but you should be very meticulous over the build, check everything, personally I would swap the main and tail drive components for something of proven quality.

It will be absolute brilliant, if GC will provede all spare parts for this bird, like for 450 size.
Already have one HK-500, but can’t find reasonable place for spares.

Had this kit a while, but only just around to building it.
Few loose bolts, but a straight forward build. Just hovered it & is a treat to fly compared to smaller more expensive Branded Helis. Can’t fault it for the money!

I wanted to replace the tt driven tail on a CX500 pro with a belt driven tail. The Align parts add up to about £50 so it made more sense to buy this. Carbon & cnc parts are good quality, only downside from my point of view is the landing gear seems a bit flimsy. It’s gone down in price since I bought mine too, so it’s even better value.

Initial build went well, replaced all the screws with better ones, the ones supplied are rubbish.
No problems with the frame regards delamination, as reported in one post.
Then disaster, the main rotor shaft does not fit in the gears, either the shaft is to big or the one way bearing hole is too small. AArrrrrrr
Informed GC waiting for a reply and solution. Hopefully won’t take long to get sorted, then I can continue building.
Apart from the minor issue great value for money.

Received this today at 11am. I had already downloaded a manual for the Glass fibre 500 thinking that it would cover this, it does but not the metal tail.
Because I had heard of the cheap screws/bolts used in clones I had already bought an Align frame hardware set for this build.
Pros – Actually for the price it is very good.
Reasonably well made
Canopy looks good
Head is all metal – only links are plastic
Cons – No manual
Tail grips are a little sloppy in the hub (Didn’t have a second hex driver handy to take apart to fix)
cheep screws and bolts
I took most of the heli apart, other than the tail grips from the hub and greased/locktighted as necessary. I don’t believe in using CA on the plastic to plastic parts, unless a repair is needed.
As expected all bearing surfaces were dry, inluding the one way bearing. More surprising though was that ALL bar two bolts on the head required locktight! It was best to check though.
The canopy looks good but has no holes drilled in it for the mounting grommets.
Oh and there isnt a single HK marking on the bird 🙂
Just need to buy the electrics and a receiver when I can afford 🙂
Would I buy another? yes

Received Heli this morning , 🙂 (Special Delivery -Purchased Yesterday)..
Got refund for out of stock item (Refund did take 5 days though!)
Have checked contents , all appeared complete , the quality of all the metal machining and carbon is very GOOD.
The Plastic parts could be better , but still adequate.
I will threadlock all metal parts , CA the screws to plastic.
Build it up over the weekend.
And give my opinion of the built kit at a later date.
Overall Happy with Purchase..

Left hand frame delaminated so badly so I could slip a pen between the laminations and so making it unusable.
The locating holes in the frames to accurately locate the various parts were undersize but the frame were forced together causing distortion.
The main gear assembley was already fitted between the frames by the manufacturer, this it because the gears cannot be fitted or removed from the heli without spitting the frames and that is a big problem and unexeptable.
Even if the frames are not delaminating you will need to rework this heli so the frames fit correctly and the gears can be removed without having to spit the frames.

just looked in the box and it look’s good for the extra money ,lots carbon and alloy parts,metal tail drive gears + i got 2 motor pinions included in my kit!
