What can I add great little motor just fitted 2 to my Jackal twin (see twinkle , rcgroups.com )
drop of locktite stops the screw from working loose .
keep a couple around for spares
180watts on 3 cells
use a 18amp esc
usual fast delivery

just designed and built a 36″ rc concorde with 24″ wingspan from 6mm depron,the auw including the 2s 2200 is 560g.i tried this motor with 7×5 sports prop and not much joy,changed prop to 9×5 sports and it can lift vertical,not too fast but lifts quite good,pretty sure with a 3s it will be amazing! will attempt to fly it outside today so will post final results on this motor along with pics.

Superb value for money. Brilliant performance on 3s and a 6×4 APC, in a converted 1/2 A pylon racer which is now faster (a lot faster) than with an I/C engine

Good cheap motor ive got two on me multiplex mk2 Twin star with cheap apc look a like 7×6 props. Go’s well on a 3 cell 3300 lipo and 2 of the cheap 30 amp esc’s from giantcod Thanks rob good deal for bits Davy

I have one of these pusher fashion in a depron Vought Cutlas on a 2 cell 1800 Li[po or a 3 cell 1300. and a 7X6 prop. Flies well on both. An excellent motor for the price.

I’m running two of these in a Twinstar with just 12 amp ESC’s. Everything’s mounted in the nacelles so its nice and cool. Awesome motors with a 7x4e prop!

I have yet to test them in flight, but testing them in the two models I put them in, they have plenty of power, so look forward to the 1st flight. I am running the motors with 18A ESC,7x6APC prop and 1300 3 cell lipo

Just bought two for a twin motor model (by mistake – I meant to get the 2822’s!) but never mind, they look good little motors and on test seem to be quite gutsy – I’ll build something smaller maybe for these!

Not yet chosen a model to put this in, but it’s so versatile I have many options. A friend has made me a model he calls a ‘swing2’, it’s sure to be lively with this motor up front !
Rob does a good job to make selection easy, so even relatively new to model flight you can get just the right kit. Price is good too, lots of air-time for £cheap, happy days 🙂

Running this 2812 in a GWS Formosa 1 with 18A ESC, 2 cell 1300mAh LiPo and 7×4 apc. Cannot believe how much grunt this produces for it’s size! Enough power for me for less than a fiver. Unbelievable!

Running this motor on 1300 3s , 18A ESC is the BEST “bang for buck” out there, in my opinion. I have 3 of these. 1 in a ALIGN F16 1250 3s on a 6×4 very very over powered 😉 and 1 on a Easy Star on a 2200 3s (CofG reasons) on a 6×4 this performs very well as a camera barge

I’m using two of these on 6×4 APCE props in my Twinstar. They are perfect for the job – quiet, efficient, powerful and run cool. With a 4350 3 cell LiPo pack I can get more than 30 minutes flying time.

Great budget motor, just be careful not to overprop. 7×6 is a little overkill. In my opinion great for profile “prop in slot parkjets” with 24-30″ wingspans. Paired with 20Amp SP esc, TGS 6×5 prop and 3s 1300mah LIPO. Excellent value for money.

I’ve just bought another one to add to my previous four. This little motor will give you far more happiness than the big motors. It is much more friendly and less frightening than the big motors. I’m now running it on 1300mAh 3s lipo. On a folding prop with a gaupner boss fitted with giantcod 7.5×4 folding blades. This is such an efficient set up. It shifts a lot of air. It takes 12 amps and 120 watts. I would never run this motor at more than 12 amps because it gets warm. With the incredibly efficient folding prop that I’m using it will fly all models in the known universe between 1 and 2 pounds in weight. Use a 20 amp speed contoller. Absolutely fantasmagorical. Don’t forget to glue on the base with a super strong glue as well as the two grub screws otherwise you will come to grief. Ten stars, and thank cod for the best motor for years.

Great Little Motor: CF2812.
I’ve used ONE for 12 months in a 900mm EPP flying wing; 495g flying weight including 2200mah 11.1v 3 cell Lipo, with APCE 7×5 prop, 30A ESC, it used to go true unlimited vertical till out of sight! and fast!!
It did a lot of 8 minute flights mostly on full throttle – we’re talking for 5 sets of batteries back to back every time i went out flying the wing – at least once per week – (no breaks in between flights / batteries), and in all weathers from sea mist, to frost, snow and sunshine occassionally:-)
It finally died about a month ago, so i replaced it with the Giant Cod CF2812 £4.55 plus postage (my original CF2812 was from another seller at £6.95 plus postage). The original CF2812 was tested against another working ESC to make sure what had actually died, and tested the 30A ESC against another motor too (the CF2822 1200kv version of the same motor) – the ESC still worked great.
The Giant Cod royal mail first class delivery of CF2812 really was next day, even arriving on a Saturday – excellent!. Unfortunately the Giant Cod CF2812 only lasted a dozen flights in the same aircraft on the same set up (only flying in the very limited good weather recently too), and it fried the 30A ESC ! and then a brand new 40A ESC after that!! (i thought it was my original £10 30A ESC eventually on the way out as well, not the new Giant Cod motor, so got a new 40A ESC; but the new motor killed it straight off – in the same flying wing – on the same set up / prop / etc!).
So, now i’ve bought another CF2812 + 30A ESC for £13 including postage, from another seller!

smooth running very light motor i,ve used 2 in a gws a10 on 4.75×4.75e tgs sports props gives aprox 85w each on a old 2225 lipo. i added another grube screw at 90 degrees and use these as it can pivot on 2 at 180 degrees.

Plenty of power for a 36″ 1lb 10oz model but 24A and 1200rpm with 3S lipo and 7×6 APC clone, so guess I need to try smaller props…

Excellent motor for the money. I have 2 now, both used for brushless conversions, one in a Wing Dragon 3 channel pusher (now r o g and aerobatic) and a Kyosho Spree Sports which maidened today ( brilliant in a wind gusting from 5 to 15 mph). Both model weigh about 500 – 600g and are running on a 3s 1300mAh Loong Max lipo. On acalm day I can get three good flights out of the one battery in the Wing Dragon, used to take 3 1000mAh Ni-mhs to do the same number.

My combat with a weight of 500g go very fast with this motor. I use a 7×6 APC stytle propeller, a lipo 3s 1500mah and a speed controller of 30A.
I fly 10 minutes.

I now have four of these. I run them on 2 cell lipo 1300mAH. I use a 7.5×4 folding prop and sp10 amp speed controller. All from Giant Cod. Fantastic in gliders and any plane up to 1lb in weight. Draws 7.8 Amps and 60 watts. I have more than twenty brushless motors and this is my favourite. However be sure to glue on the mounting plate with Locktite super steel or something similar as the two grub screws are not up to the job. Fantastic value for money from Giant Cod.

Good motor lots of power and dose not cut out under strain from the wind. still forget how much faster this makes my plane.
