Brown Paper

Postby discus.fly on Mon Jul 26, 2010 4:45 pm

Have stipped back my seaplane to bare Deppron to experiment with covering foam using brown paper. Paper was applied using PVA glue and an iron to fix it in place. The result is a near perfect surface for the paint, but what type should I use? Any advice on how I should proceed to make the surface water-proof.

I have used brown paper on foam core wings, I used poly varnish, the stuff that does what it says on the tin. They are water and fuel proof (to 10% nitro anyways). I didn't bother to paint them as they looked 'funky' as they were.

Is that the water or spirit based varnish?

Water based, just wash the brush under a tap when finished.
