This is a great motor for it's money! I'm using them on everything! Parkflyer, Indoor, MultiCopters etc.
Make sure you do not screw the motor mount screws too tight, as this will kill the bearings and / or influence performance!
Tighten the screws just tight enough to fix the motor and then seal the screws with a bit of (hot) glue. This will prevent them from unscrewing themselves.

Going against the grain here but I've been disappointed by these motors, though it's likly my application.
I've bought 8 of these (two for spares that were used up very quickly) for a custom hexacopter build, and they have only been in the air 3 or 4 times and have all developed quirks such as rattles, wobbles or whines making them unusable. I'm now forced to replace them all with better quality and am kicking myself I didn't just do this in the first place.
Out of the bag they are poorly ballanced, the shafts are very soft and long and bend incredibly easily meaning that even if you get a ballanced one it doesn't remain that way for long. The bearings seem to last minutes, the magnets are often unevenly spaced in the bell and grub screw fixing method works very badly. The feeling is to tighten them hard to stop them working lose, but doing this crushes the bearings due to the soft materials.
They are good value I imagine for less demanding applications, but for 'copters I'd think about something better.

just recieved my 5th one of these; great little motor - 3 have gone into Lanyu Cessna's (1 3 channel, 1 4 channel and one for my mate) - another in a Lanyu Corsair; this will go into a CWS Spitfire. Reliable and tough, and a great price.

Grand little motor, this. Revs it's nuts off on a 7x5E TGS Sport Propeller with a Gens Ace 1000mAh 3S 20C Lipo Battery and 18amp Hobbywing ESC. It's going in a GC Cap 232 so should be much fun!!
Being new to EP, I have followed the recommendations on the GC web-site for set-up.
If this goes well, I am going to electrify my World Models Super Frontier Senior. An 82" trainer. It costs me a fortune to train others (although most people do contribute to fuel) electricity should keep the price down flight for flight.

Using several of these, good quality and smooth running. Over twice the price for the same motor on some other uk suppliers sites.

This is a very versatile motor. I have 2 powering my Twinstar and it flies vertically. Another powers a foam cub 36" with more power than is needed. These motors can take 6 or 7 inch props up to 10 inch slow fly without getting hot. I am very impressed with these motors for small models.

i have built a couple small multiwii quadcopters(16cm radius) with these motors. you CANNOT beat the value.
i use 8" props on 10 amp hobbywing esc's and they have awesome lift on my 620gram quad.
things to note:
do use threadlock on the grub screws.. motors pop out of the mount if you dont. ask me how i know.. i use 2mm bullet connectors, and they just pop out. otherwise i think the windings may get yanked out.
bearings do not last long.
shafts bend easy. i shorten them to try and avoid this. prop savers help too..
but im an RC newb, so i crash often, HARD!
have always been able to get these motors running again. although with whiny bearings.
but at this price, it is perfectly acceptable. excellent bargain.

Superb value for money , as are all the CF series motors. Have now bought 4 of these motors. One flies my 42" span Nieuport 11 more than adequately on a 9x6 APC Slo-fli prop. Quality is a bit variable, one of the motors came with a rather slack front bearing, but at the price they can't be beaten.

I ordered this motor and a 8x4 prop at 11:30 on a Friday morning and it arrived before midday on Saturday (as always excellent service from Giantcod)
I used the motor in a scratch built depron eurofighter along with a quark22 ESC salvaged from an old heli and a loongmax 1300mah 3cell lipo (also from giant cod). i used 4 micro servos that i had laying about, 2 for the ailerons (setup with elevon mixing on my TX) one servo for the rudder and another for the working canards (mixed in with the elevator function in my TX - I'm using a FlySky FSTh9B 2.4G 9 Channel Transmitter, also bought from Giantcod and hacked 'n' flashed with custom firmware)
ive had about half a dozen flights with this setup now, and I have to say the motor has performed beautifully. Its gotten 'quite warm' but not what id describe as hot - i was able to touch the motor right after a 5 min hard aerobatic flight, and not burn my hand at all - i could keep my finger on the motor without discomfort.
ive no idea how many watts im drawing, but my 22amp ESC seemed to handle it fine.
Best of all with the 8x4 prop it goes like stink - its very quick, id guess around 45-60mhp - its hard to tell when its whizzing through the air!
if your interested, I've posted a video up on youtube with this motor in action on the eurofighter
here's the link :)

Nice motor!
Using them on several MultiWiiCopter (Quadrocopter) with 8" or 10" Props, was using them with 25A ESC, now using 12A ESC for some time without problems. Get one more, the quality is good for the low price but you might get a faulty one (therefore only 4 Stars). I always glue the motors into the mounting to prevent them from flipping out in flight...

Perfect motor in the Giant Cod Edge 540. Mine pulls 118 watts at 11A on 8 x 3.8 SF prop, 3 cell 11.1v 1100mah 25c lipo. Performance enough for all the 3D moves with the Giant Cod Edge 540, even outside in a 9mph breeze :-)

These are great cheap motors.
Downsides are the grub-screw coming out, so best replaced with a normal M3 bolt.
Also the bearings arn't too great. The new ones I bought were noticably smoother than my 3 month old ones.

I have fallen out with these motors after initial favourable impressions. I have four, all of which have the same problem : the motor works loose in the mount even when securing the two retaining grub screws with loctite. This leads to further problems with the motor falling out/chaffing wires etc.
Additionally one has been rough from the word go and refuses to perform. Overall very disappointed.

As noted these are great value motors.
I have one in a 600g 1.5m glider turning an h@y 8x4.5 folder 100 watts @ 10amps on 3s 2200
the other in a 570g vintage model on apc clone 10x5 70watts @ 10 amps 1300 2s
Two small issues : the grub screws that hold the motor in the mount come loose : use loctite!
The shaft is prone to bending (on impact) but cheap to replace.
Really good value

This one is so versatile. Runs great in a J Perkins Chipmunk with a 6x4 12A ESC and 850 3s. Powers GWS war birds on a 8x4, 13 to 1800 3s with a 18A ESC this is a great all round little motor, These "Pinkies" are the best value motor I have used ! the Tower Pro will just out perform it but it is not in the same quality league and a lot heavier.
New model replaces the old 830Kv ? ? ?

Brill little motor, will fully test current /watts with different props when fully fitted in model. Past experience has shown that the true values only show up 100% in the model and flight. The other E-Max CF2812 I have has proved to do what is says on the tin when set with the Prop 7*5.

Oh dear; I think I got an FC2215 not the 2822 I thought I ordered even though mine is red not blue. Hence my comments in the previous review apply to the 2215. Still feel its a great motor swinging a big prop. It might handle 11 or 12 inch props on 2 cells but on a 10x4.7 it tales a 300g model straight up on2/3 throttle and full power is never used.

Hmm - I wonder if there are different specs for this motor? Mine turns a 10x4.7 @11amps on 2 cells and gives massive thrust for a large Foamy. Running with the cheapest GC 30 amp speed controller and a Loomax 1800 battery. Nothing gets hot and fantastic throttle control. Only problem has been the prop saver pulling off. Unbelievable value.

Got one for a Brit Flight Breeze, just finished building yesterday evening so not flown yet, but all looks good so far. 3S LiPo, 7x5.5 prop showed exactly 120 watts on the wattmetter as it tried to pull out of my hand and into the air. Unbeatable price, smooth running, I would recommend it.

Hi I would like to comment on this motor as being very good value for money, in the past I have
used these on my quads and tricopters with good results never let me down while flying, the only weak point I can find is the bearings on heavy landings have failed on a couple of times other
than that a great little motor well done rob thanks vince.

Bought this motor for one of my GWS Warbirds weighing 1lb, perfect for it on a 3S 1300mAh Lipo. Could happily fly it around on half throttle. As said before, pay no attention to the label, the suggested prop is completely wrong. I used a 8*6 prop on mine and it drew 16A, a bit to close for the 18A ESC I was using. So spend a little more and get a 20A ESC, just to be safe. Since buying the motor I have crashed the plane it was in, wreaking the motor :(. Won't hesitate in buying another.

i put 2 in a twinstar with 7x5 props 11amp. flew great. but the mounts are not so good.
came loose and rotated pulling a wire from the windings.
could do with 2 more grub screws on mount.or at these prices just super glue it toghether.

These motors are a superb replacement for speed 400`s. I`ve used two of them on a Multiplex Twinstar and the performance is much better. The motors are the same as the Hi Model 2822 motors and I run them on an APC 8x4E with a 3s LiPo and a Fly 12A esc. The two motors pull a combined amperage of 25A (250W), equates to 125W each.

I have further tested this motor on a 2 cell lipo pack. On a 10x4.8 it is overloaded and cannot spin up. The same for a 9x6. But on a 9x4.8 this motor came alive. I am flying it in a 1meter epp foam model with 1200mAH Lipo. I did not have a 3 cell pack to hand, but would expect the diameter of the prop to come down to about an 8 inch prop.
For the money this a fantastic motor.

The build of this motor is fantastic. For a fiver you get some serious engineering. Awaiting the ESC to run this up. I will let know how well things go later. But just for build quality it gets 5STARS!
